People often ask, “Why would writers and filmmakers invest time and money just to meet celebrities?”  The answer:  Because contacts are CRUCIAL to success in this business!  Furthermore, many of the actors who attend events like the Night of 100 Stars Gala, Director’s Guild Awards Dinner, The Hollywood Show (all links to their event pages), and other similar events are interested in well-written low budget films.  This is where YOU come in!

We were so honored that George Clooney stopped by for a chat with our students in our 2012 Celebrity event! Thanks again for those that attended the sold out Celebrity Dinner and look forward to next year’s event.

For example, one of our students, Mark Mahon, met Michael Madsen at the Night of 100 Stars event and approached him about being in his film.  The result was Mark Mahon’s first feature film, Strength and Honour, starring Michael Madsen!  It can happen to anyone with the right mix of dedication, drive, and charisma – and it could happen to you!

In 2010, we had students meet up with Quentin Tarantino.   In 2011, students met up with Sherwood Oaks alumni, James Cameron.  In the past five years, Sherwood Oaks introduced students to George Clooney, Clint Eastwood, Stephen Spielberg, the Coen brothers (Ethan and Joel), Daniel Day Lewis (Academy Award Winning Actor), Oliver Stone, Brad Pitt, Angelina Jolie, Harrison Ford, and numerous others.
